We *love* the MG! Billy the owner is a love! He has created a fabulous menu made with ultra fresh ingredients and you’ll know what I mean when you try the vast array of dishes. He works tirelessly to create an atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. I’m a freakishly weird eater with many restrictions and all of the wait staff we’ve had are so accommodating and fabulous about it. I can’t say enough about MG but don’t take my word…try it for yourself! You won’t be disappointed.
Came to hear live music which sounded great. Glad they support live music. The band was great. We had supper. The chicken was great and my friend said the shrimp pasta was decent. My other friend ordered a vegetable dish that she was quite happy with. Recommend the food, they have an extensive drink menu, wonderful music and it has a nice pub atmosphere.
We hosted my son’s wedding rehearsal dinner on Friday October 6th at The Menotomy Grill & Tavern in Arlington. The guest list included 30 adults and 4 children. We opted to have the Tavern Buffet which included, Baked Cod, Herb Roasted Chicken and the BEST Steak Tips (be sure to try the fabulous sauce they offer), along with Roasted Potatoes, Fresh Sautéed Green Beans and Rolls. I asked the event manager Tom Carroll if we could add some baked brie and fruit platter to the guests as they waited for everyone to arrive and he delivered a lovely set up that the guests really enjoyed. (…) Some guests were so impressed that they went back the next day for lunch!
Was in Cambridge while attending classes at Harvard for my work. I had dinner here twice choosing their chicken sandwich (with) sweet potato fries.
In town for a wedding and staying at the hotel next door. I have been there 3 times in two days and everything has been superb. Great drink selection, fantastic service and the food is excellent. Has the steak tips for dinner and the French dip for lunch. Both delicious and cooked a perfect medium rare. Other in the group has the fish and chips, roast chicken and grilled chicken Caesar. All fantastic. Kid friendly with a nice kid’s menu.
This is a Grill and Tavern that could easily be in Boston or NYC. The atmosphere is chic and comfy. The outdoor patio is fun in summer and gives you some quiet space if you are in that mood. Inside has a lively bar and comfortable tables in the restaurant area. The menu has something for everybody. The appetizers like the fried pickles or chipotle wings are easy for sharing. The salads are substantial and delicious. They are easily a dinner when you add shrimp, chicken or steak tips! Great burgers and sandwiches of all kinds. Entrees represent New England fare.
I really like this place. We go about once a month. The bar has that local pub feel and the tables have an unpretentious upscale ambiance. All the staff are great. The food is a perfect blend of familiar and imaginative, and very good. Good selection of beer on tap, cocktails made tasty quickly and ice cold. The parking lot usually full so plan to street park in Mass Ave.
We had dinner there the other night without a reservation. What a great feel to the restaurant. The fireplace and bar areas are very comfortable and inviting. The hostess sat us as soon as she could and our waitress was quick to get us our drinks. I had the roast chicken with potato sausage stuffing. It was really very good. In fact it was a great meal, great service, in a great space and not overly priced. It checked off all of my boxes.
Simple food done very, very well. Affordable prices, big portions. Amazing beer menu! Friendly, knowledgeable service. And what’s really important, that a lot of people forget about, is that the place is really clean and looks great!
By far my favorite restaurant in Arlington! The food is always amazing, and you get really good portions for what they’re priced. The pulled pork sandwich is addicting, but the fried pickles are by far my favorite thing on the menu. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone!
Great food — had a salad and the soup of the day and it was amazing! Enjoyed the special drink too – white sangria. Good selection of cocktails, wine & beer. Glad we stumbled on this restaurant. Delicious and great vibe.
We’ve eaten here four times and the food has always been top notch and the service very good.
I’ve had the steak tips twice and there were always more than I could (should) finish.
They have live music on the weekends which makes this place a perfect spot to get out on the weekend without having to go far. The downside is you should have a reservation on Friday or Saturday or end up waiting 30 minutes in the bar area.
It’s my favorite place in Arlington by far.
Came here for lunch one day and had some of the best fish tacos ever! They also had a really great selection of beers and other drinks on tap. Loved it so much we went back later that night for a few more drinks and some food.
Their Chick’n BLT is delicious! Service has always been great!! And if you haven’t tried the Battle Road beer?…then you missed the best tasting local brew around!!! Go back just for the Battle Road Brew!!!
Great from the hostess, wait staff to the food. The food was presented & tasted perfectly each and every time we have visited the restaurant.
Nice beer collection. And the wings were tasty too. I also tried a pizza which was tasty.
I visited this place for dinner last week. We started with an appetizer of PEI mussels, had entrees of steak tips and pork shank, and ended with a dessert of coconut mousse. The mussels were cooked just long enough to be cooked but not too long to be tough. The steak tips were cooked just right such that the inside was still red while the outside was brown. The meat came off the pork shank nicely. It was all pretty good but also pretty pricey.
